The Kansas City Metropolitan area is a vibrant community known for its many distinctive features. The Country Club Plaza is one of the premier shopping districts in the nation. Located at the confluence of the Missouri and Kansas Rivers, the metropolitan area is divided by the Missouri/Kansas State line. The Missouri River turns sharply east at the juncture of these rivers and in the southern part of the city, the center line on State Line Road is the State Line. The northbound lanes are in Missouri and the southbound are in Kansas.
